Dr Mike McIntire

Dr. McIntire is known to his clients by his nickname, Dr. Mike. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. After practicing as an associate in private practice in suburban Philadelphia for two years, he resumed his education at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he completed a 2 year internship and residency in small animal medicine and surgery, earning a masters degree in veterinary science. In 1978 Dr. Mike and his wife, Dr. Sandy moved to Vermont and started their own practice serving the Windsor community. The practice started in their home in West Windsor, Vermont moving to their current location in Windsor in 1986. In April 2019, Dr. Mike sold the general practice to Dr. Susan Kissel (Mount Ascutney Veterinary Services) and now works with his wife, Dr. Sandy.

Dr. Sandra L. Waugh

Dr. Sandra L. Waugh graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. She completed a 2 year internship and residency in equine medicine and surgery at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning a masters degree in Veterinary Science. After a career that has included an ambulatory equine practice and general small animal surgery, she became interested in veterinary dentistry.

In order to learn more about small animal dentistry, she attended the Animal Dental Training Center in Baltimore, Maryland, taking courses in Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, Oral Surgery, Master Restoratives, Endodontics and masters courses in Orthodontics and crowns. This training center provides hands-on training under the direction of Dr. Ira Luskin, a board certified veterinary dentist. In addition, she has attended the Veterinary Dental Forum every year since 2006. The forum provides 3 days of lectures and hands-on laboratories and provides "total immersion" in veterinary dentistry.

Angie

Angie is a certified veterinary technician. She has worked for Dr. Mike & Dr. Sandy for over 20 years and has experience with general practice, emergency medicine/critical care with a special interest in veterinary dentistry and anesthesia. Angie is compassionate about her career and demonstrates that compassion not only with our patients but also with our clients. She has augmented her dental education at the Animal Dental Training Center, Southern California Dental Specialties, The Veterinary Dental Forum and enjoys attending continued education courses locally and nationally.

Angie graduated from Cedar Valley College in 2014 earning her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology. Shortly after passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) she became a certified veterinary technician.

When not at work, Angie is active in the globally-connected fitness community, enjoys spending time with her children, husband, cats, dogs and chickens.

Barbara Bergman, CVT

Barbara is also a certified veterinary technician joining our practice in 2017. She graduated from Becker College with her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology and has passed the VTNE. Barbara had worked over 23 years at Tufts (Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine) helping educate veterinary students as well as working as a veterinary medical technician.

After growing up and spending most of her life in Massachusetts she moved to Vermont. Barbara worked at Springfield Animal Hospital for 2 years before joining our practice. When not at work, Barbara enjoys competition driving with her horse Angel. Barb has been a great addition to our team as she comes with many years of experience and knowledge.
